The Lingnan W.T. Chan Fellowship is a 5½-month program that brings undergraduate and graduate students from China to the United States for a significant intercultural service-learning experience. The program involves complete immersion in U.S. society: fellows live with homestay families and work with nonprofit organizations in the Bay Area. Additionally, fellows attend weekly seminars, leadership training, cultural events, educational excursions, field trips, and other campus-community events. Through these activities, fellows gain first-hand understanding of social issues in the Bay Area and the larger United States, and participate in advocating for disadvantaged communities through public service.
